we went to Wat Phra That Doi Kham which was absolutely amazing. We would recommend to rent a scooter and going to both (and surroundings such as Grand Pavilion). When you are short on time, I would prefer going to Wat Phra That Doi Kham instead of Doi Suthep.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is known as the second highest Temple in Thailand. From the base it took us an hour by taxi to get to the entrance of the temple, as we quickly passed many people on tuk-tuk vehicles who were struggling to get up the mountain on the road.
Wonderful country Thailand...Chiang Mai is one of the beautiful city...you have to visit the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep if you are here. This is a great and amazing place for tourists and especially for Thai peoples... do it!!!
We took a Songthaew or "Red Car" up the steep road to the Wat Phra That Doi temple. It was an interesting drive. The temple is beautiful and from the top you can see fo ever. A great view over the airport and the surroundings. Well worth the visit. You have to pay to get in, but not much.
I have been to Wat Phra Thar Doi Suthep before and walked the 309 steps to the top to see this magnificent temple. The stairs have been there for more than 400 years. This was the first time I have visited at night. The temple is much less crowded and the view from the top is breathtaking
Wat Phra Singh was founded to enshrine the ashes of King Dam Nu and is a sacred site to many Thai people. Its popularity to not only the Thai people but also tourists makes it difficult to fully appreciate the splendour of the place.
We got up early at 5 am, in order to see the sunrise on Doi Suthep. And beat the traffic while doing so. Around six it was already getting more busy on the roads, until we arrived at the part where the climb up started.
