Wat Rong Kun, perhaps better known to foreigners as the White Temple, is a contemporary, unconventional, privately-owned art exhibit in the style of a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. It is owned by Chalermchai Kositpipat, who designed, constructed, and opened it to visitors in 1997.

We really enjoy the day. the guide was nice and very helpful. The only thing is that it is a very very long day and tiring. I would recommend to do this excursion in 2 days and to overnight in the north. All the visit were too short to explore, admire and appreciate the sites. We did not have time to visit the gallery of the artist at the the White temple.

The journey is very long by car (8 / 9h). The guide was great. But it is not exceptional to see. There are more interesting things to do directly in Chiang Mai.

Spent a day at the park. We payed at entrance, and for the four of us, it was just below 5000 bath. It is expensive to eat and drink there, and at arrival they will check your backpack and take any water/refreshments you have. This force you to buy all drink and food inside the park, and it was pricey.

May, our guide, was great! The bus was nice but the White Temple was disappointing. The way they march you thru like soldiers was disturbing. The temple is beautiful but you aren’t given time to embrace it.

I LOVED the white temple. I would have been happy to stop here and turn around. We only were able to spend one hour here, which was NOT enough. I thought the golden triangle was a waste of time. We just got on a boat and went up and down a river. We did not even get off the boat! I felt rushed on this entire trip. Definitely skip the golden triangle and just spend time at the white temple. The bus driver drove like a crazy person. We spent most of the day driving, which is not what I wanted for vacation.
