We did a day trip to doi inthanon national park with a visit to the king and queen pagodas and the beautiful waterfalls. The trip was organised by PT travels and they did their best to help us understand the life and culture of this region. Doi inthanon is full of flowers and different birds and is one of the larger national parks of Thailand. The temperature on top is several degrees lower than Chiang mai.
We visited here for a day trip from our hotel in Chiang Mai, it takes around 1:30 to 2 hours to get there from Chiang Mai city, but boy is it worth it.
We went to Doi Inthanon on a private tour from Chiang Mai. It was a wonderful trip despite the wet and rainy weather. There are various things to do and see in this National Park even if views may be rare. We went to the beautiful waterfall named after the current king of Thailand.
We hired a 125cc scooter in Chiang Mai to go around the Mae Hong Son loop during one week, and Doi Inthanon was our last stop.
This National Park reaches the highest point in Thailand. The views can sometimes be hazy but still worth the trip. The Pagodas and gardens dedicated to the King and Queen are something to behold. If you take a tour, choice one that stops by the two main waterfalls as well. All this can be done within half a day via van tour out of Chiang Mai.
We did a day trip to Doi Inthanon National Park. We visited the top of Doi Inthanon, the King and Queen Pagodas, Hill Tribe Market and Village, and 2 waterfalls. We were picked up from out accommodation in Chiang Mai around 9.30 and were back by 5.30pm.
We did a day trip to Doi Inthanon National Park. Our guide Gift was great and provided great information on the places we are visiting. The drive to the park from Chiang Mai was about and hour. We visited 2 waterfalls, the King's and Queen's pagodas, a brief hike to the highest point in Thailand, a roadside market selling some of the best fresh and dried fruits and nuts, Sobhad Village where the women work to make sarves. Lunch was included on our tour which was a nice spread of coconut chicken soup, chicken with cashews, rice, veggies and fresh fruit. It was a great day with some amazing views of the Thailand mountains and country side. Would definitely recommend it.
